Scrupulosity, or anxiety over religious beliefs. This is a great illustration over obsessive fear of sinning. My symptoms were never quite as bad, but yes, I had the same obsessive fears, not helped by my church's virtual obsession with "dedication."

Shadow Voices - an ABC documentary about mental illness and the hope for recovery - airing Dec. 4th 2005 through Feb. 4th 2006. The program is billed as "an intimate, inside look at what it is like to live with a mental illness and how individuals and their families find their way through a tangle of mental, medical, governmental, societal, and spiritual issues."
