I adore Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. They are unique, wonderful PS2 games that everyone should try! They're even kid-friendly for the most conservative parents - there is no death, gore, weapons... the game is just fun. Some people don't get it - I think they probably haven't played.
In Katamari Damacy, you play as The Prince of All Cosmos, and your father, The King Of All Cosmos, had a crazy night and knocked out all the stars in the sky. As the Prince, you roll around Earth, gathering items into your katamari (roughly translated as "clump") to replace the stars. In We Love Katamari, you return to Earth and grant fan requests, such as rolling up only certain items, or trying to make the largest katamari possible with only a few items.
There is a sequel for the Playstation Portable called Me And My Katamari, but as I don't have a PSP, I can't write about it, and I don't want to read any spoilers. One day, when I get a PSP and the game, I'll write about it here.
