Google doesn’t want people to google

This is stupid. Google is cracking down on people who use “google” as a verb (as in, I just googled the new guy at work.)  Google says it has serious trademark issues.

The problem with that is, when I say I’ve Googled someone (as a verb), I really AM using Google!

Has Jell-O been hurt by people calling all generic gelatins by its name?  How about Band-Aid and other bandage brands?  Honestly, when you want to buy a box of Band-Aids, what is the first brand you think of?  Band-Aid.  Not Curad or Nexcare or whoever.  (See? I even had to look up a third brand… I had to find Nexcare’s name on Drugstore.com!)  So it’s more likely that it would help, rather than hurt, them.
