I heart Gamespot

Looks like I get one more year of Total Access at the old Complete price:
Dear Total Access Subscriber, Effective December 7, 2006, all GameSpot Total Access subscribers will automatically be renewed at the current subscription price of $5.95 monthly or $39.95 annually. Annual Total Access subscribers whose renewal dates fall before December 7, 2006 [...]

GameTap is glitchy.

I’m very disappointed with GameTap.
If you don’t know what GameTap is, it’s a subscription-based gaming network for PCs. It features tons of classic games - currently they’re boasting over 600 games. It’s $9.95 monthly.
I have more than enough system resources according to their minimum requirements, as well as bandwidth (minimum 384k download speed [...]

Oh, the irony

Red Octane, makers of Guitar Hero, are suing a third party - The Ant Commandos - for making and selling a wireless Guitar Hero controller. Red Octane says that The Ant Commandos are confusing people by using their Guitar Hero trademark.
The irony? Red Octane, for years, sold unlicensed dance mats for Dance Dance Revolution. [...]

Preorders at EB & Gamestop update

Hooray! Good news!
From GoNintendo:
“…
Here’s the deal with the “trade $50 worth of stuff for a pre-order deposit” rumor. This rumor is true…however there is a catch. As of right now, Gamestop is doing a test run of this “offer” in the state of Hawaii and the island of Guam ONLY. All the details you posted [...]

Your cash is no good at EB Games/Gamestop

How horrible is this?! According to a post at Go Nintendo, the only way you can reserve a Wii or PS3 is by trading in games and accessories that value more than $50, combined. You can’t pay cash, even if you pay in full! (Once your trade-in value reaches $50, however, you can pay [...]

Why are older games priced lower?

I’m sure there are a lot of us who wait for certain games to drop their prices. There are few titles I, personally, will pay retail for, and those games have to have excellent reviews and I have to be almost certain I will love them (not like; love.) A recent example for [...]

Quick Links: surveillance via PSP

Seen here are cute USB thumb drives featuring Egyptian hieroglyphs. I love it!
This security camera can broadcast a live surveillance feed to your Playstation Portable, as well as a PDA or computer. Not bad for a $149 security cam.
Obligatory Hello Kitty Link - headphones/microphone combo for your PC.

Awesome Nintendo DS cell phone straps

Just a bit of free publicity for my favorite cell phone strap store. Strapya has these cute Nintendo DS phone straps featuring a mini DS and a mini game, like Nintendogs or Super Mario 64 DS. They’re very detailed - the DS screens even show pics of the games! They are on [...]

PS1/PS2 game saves on PS3: Good and bad news

According to Gamespot, via Sony themselves, your old PS1/PS2 game saves will work on the PS3, with a catch.  You’ll have to have a memory card adaptor to copy the saves onto a virtual memory card on the PS3’s hard drive.  The article says it’s unclear if Sony themselves will release an adaptor, but it [...]
